Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 9, 2013 for an evening CME lecture on "New Approaches to the Management of DCIS."

The speaker for the evening will be Shelley Hwang, MD, MPH. Dr. Hwang is a surgical oncologist for Duke University.

Dr. Hwang completed her residency at Kaiser Permanente-Los Angeles and Cornell University. She earned her fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Singapre General Hospital.

Dr. Hwang's clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of early-stage breast cancer, management of patients at high risk for breast cancer and surgical treatment of patients with breast disease.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the current standard treatment recommendations for DCIS
  • Illustrate the emerging role of clinical and molecular prognostic factors in the management of DCIS
  • Describe the DCIS Score and how it might be used in clinical practice
